|Norm's New Article In Popular Woodworking Is On Sale Now|
David: I just received my issue of the magazine yesterday (10/10/12), and I must say, it was excellent. It didn't have the same question that most of the other articles about Norm usually asked.
Here are some of the questions that Norm was asked.
1. Your show, "The New Yankee Workshop" introduced countless people to the craft. What's the best thing people can learn from watching a woodworking television show? Also, what are the limits of TV? In other words, what can't people learn from watching "New Yankee."
2. You mentioned that one of your interests in semi-retirement is developing your own style of furniture. You said, for instance, that a Sam Maloof chair is immediately recognizable. Any hallmarks of the Norm Abram style that you can tell us about?
3. What do you admire most about period furniture makers, and conversely, what do you admire most about your contemporaries?
4. After so many years in the shop, what do you hope to learn next? (Or, are there any woodworking skills that you'd still like to master?)
In all, Norm was asked 12 questions and most were very excellent questions.
