David: Question: After it's dried, what wood changes color from green to brown as it ages?
c) Yellow poplar
Answer: (c) Yellow poplar
Although yellow poplar's sapwood is a pale, cream color, it's heartwood is usually greenish?sometimes a bright green. It doesn't stay that way for long, however. After a year or so, the surface of that green wood starts to turn brown. But if you cut into it, it's still green!
