| This Old House And Ask This Old House Are On Tonight
David: This Old House - Episode #2923 General contractor David Lopes shows Kevin the progress on the puddingstone retaining walls and front entrances at our Roxbury project. Master carpenter Norm Abram travels to Dover, N.H. to see how millwork fabricator Denis Goupil and his team fabricated custom arches for the front of the house. Back in Roxbury, stone specialist Steve Torok installs a decorative antique marble fireplace surround and mantel to match the original at the house. Upstairs, Kevin finds flooring contractor Ingo Vu laying out and installing a pre-finished, solid birch floor that is hand-scraped for an aged effect. Interior designer Tricia McDonagh shows Kevin how she took cues from the panels in the bay window and the marble fireplace surround when designing the cabinetry and countertop details for the new kitchen.
Ask This Old House - Episode #823 Landscape contractor Roger Cook shows a homeowner how to use and maintain string trimmers. Later, up in the loft, general contractor Tom Silva and host Kevin O’Connor discuss different types of woodworking clamps and their uses. Then Roger, Tom, Kevin, and plumbing and heating expert Richard ask, “What is it?” Afterward, Kevin and a remediation team help a homeowner remove dangerous lead paint from her old house.
